I then went on to try out adding an image alongside the type. Maybe a hand print from paint? or a teddy to represent the children? i then referred back to the type, looking at children's handwriting. I then came up with the idea of using a silhouette of a house with the type inside.
Looking at the different fonts of which i thought would best represent the children's hospice.
I decided on a font called 'amy's handwriting' of which i thought looked delicate enough for the message yet not too childish that it looked bad.
Development of the house idea.
I definatly want to use bright colours within my designs because of the positivity the hospice tries to put across. On the other hand it needs to be a unisex colour as it welcomes both boys and girls in.
Development of the logo..
I really quite like this logo with the child's drawing within the house as it makes the design more personal. However I am not sure about the type beneath it.
development sheets & some more ideas of some logos that I could use...
CHANGE OF PLAN!
I wanted to use the house shape to relate to the hospice itself. However we speaking to others in the class they said it could be seen as a imprisonment within the logo as if the image/type is confined within the house. Which is not what i wanted, therefore had to re-think the idea.
I have also decided to use PANTONE 319C which is like a turquoise colour as it is a unisex colour yet is still bright, bold and eye catching.
Development of my logo.
After speaking to others within the class about my logo they also agreed that it could look like the child was trpped in the house so i decided to try this again... I firstly looked at what font i wanted to use as i am happy with the colour i have chosen for the logo.
i don't really like these thicker fonts as I don't think it expresses children very well, as the children as fairly delicate.I quite like this sort of handwriting beneath as it is introducing the childrems handwriting, although i don't think it quite fits.
Initial drawing...I quite like the orange instead of the black as i think it works better with the blue.
I really like this design below! I quite like how the text sits beneath the handwritten one, however im not certain is the type is completely legible.
I also really like this font below as it hints at being childish yet is still legible and still relate to an older audience.I think i prefer the type to be in the blue to keep a continuous theme and then just have the orange as a second colour.
I don't think having the blue and orange on the face really works.
I really like this idea of colouring it in, yet outside the lines to relate to children. However i don't like the yellowish orange colour.
I really like this design below as i think it would be affective and also give me alot to work with with colour and the scribble idea.
Do you think bigger eyes look better? more friendlier?
Layout ideas.
I think this below is my favourite design for my logo as it looks gentle and quite calm.
Hey kim i really like the logo of the house with the drawn little man! yet like you have said the type underneath isnt very clear. yet the colour seems realy happy and light hearted. the image hasn got a real "claire house" feel which is another charity organisation who use a light blue and i smiley face as there logo take a look :-) x
